If they have a strong enough hand, then they can bluff. This can be an effective way to make other players fold their cards. However, if you don’t have a good enough hand, it can be costly.
The by-play between players is a big part of what makes the game interesting. You can use your descriptive writing skills to paint pictures in the reader’s head of what is going on at the table. For example, you can write about tells – the unconscious habits that reveal information about the player’s hand. These can be as simple as a change in posture or as complex as gestures.
