Is the void a bad place? Why did Machiko get sent there and that faggot get to reincarnate?
Is the void a bad place? Why did Machiko get sent there and that faggot get to...
Because she cheated on him
Didn't she only say that to give him peace of mind? In the end, she decided that she loved him enough to sacrifice her chance at reincarnation for him.
That's what I thought, but shouldn't she be rewarded for that instead of being sent to hell? The guy was being a total piece of shit regardless. He got them all killed in the first place.
Decim can't understand complex emotions. When she acted like that, the only thing that went throught his mind was most likely "what a bitch".
She never told the truth to the man she loved and emotionally abused a broken man
The important thing is that based Raito got reincarnated thereby getting a second chance to impart justice in this world.
There was a flashback of her with another dude.
Matchy and the doctor
I remember those threads. Good times, good times.
parade was such shit compared to billiards
Wait, I thought the one at the top was also the doctor. They look the same
Is the void a bad place?
Yes. Infinite nothingness.
Why did Machiko get sent there and that faggot get to reincarnate?
Because Decim is bad at his job in ep 1.
Yeah she might have cheated on him once but she was a good soul and told him she never loved him and that the child wasn't his (all lies btw) so that he wouldn't feel guilty about being responsible for their deaths. Decim didn't catch that.
Also she isn't Matchy as evidenced by the nameplate during the ED.
She did cheat on him once (which is why Decim who knew her memories believed her) but during the game she made a show out of it to make him feel better.
Not that much difference between a 5/10 and a 4/10.
It was cool to see that he made a doll of her later. That guy will end up filling stadiums and stadiums eventually.
Is the void a bad place?
They definitely portrayed it that way, but I found it hard to acknowledge, seeing as how Buddhist enlightenment is literally escape from the cycle of reincarnation.
Also she isn't Matchy as evidenced by the nameplate during the ED
I didn't see this and I can't find it
Not everyone is Buddhist.
What does it say and what does it prove?
Machida Yuuki and it proves that what she told her husband about her not being Matchy is true.
machida yuuki sama
Lots of religions have afterlifes, but you can bet that some are shittier than others. Throw reincarnation in and take out the good afterlife. Death Parade right there.
So basically you go to a shitty place no matter what you do.
IT pissed me off how they they described it, they say to people it's "heaven and hell" because they don't care to explain it, then saying it's just a "void" and reincarnation, but then later on they say "no yea the void is hell"
That's why you are supposed to spend your living time searching for a religion with an afterlife worth dying for.
I feel like the whole spiritual transmigration process is kinda broken.
How did the murderer student die? Was it ever explained?
I think the show knows that.
Especially with the implication that God isn't there anymore to oversee shit.
He also got stabbed during the fight and bled to death.
If you mean Ginti explanation then the way how he portrayed void was not exactly hell
iirc it was something along the lines of "Your consciousness is stuck there alone for eternity, only ever experiencing all of the awful things you did and your regrets" and that's pretty much hell.
Nah, hell is an eternal barbecue party where you get to meet famous people like Kurt Cobain, Franz Kafka or Togashi Yoshihiro.
We can't judge people based on memories alone.
No, of course not. That would make too much fucking sense.
He's never shown getting stabbed, he got away with the murder
So she just happens to have a friend that could be nicknamed Matchy that came to her wedding?
And made up that excuse right away when her husband told her he heard people gossiping about someone nicknamed Matchy cheating?
And then the show decides to show us the nameplate for what reason? To confuse us?
Yes it is shown.
Do you want me to go fetch a screenshot of it? I'll do it.
I have the chapter playing and I can't see when he gets stabbed I swear.
Well look better, the cop grabs a kitchen knife when he falls and stabs him in the lower back.
The entire premise was bullshit bullshitting people with more bullshit and with bullshit rules and bullshit justifications for all the bullshit.
It was all nice but still, full of shit.
but shouldn't she be rewarded for that instead of being sent to hell?
Watch the second episode, Decim fucked up he thought she was saying the truth in her last outburst.
Also the two girls the husband heard really were talking of someone else, that's the whole point of the ED.
It's pretty easy to understand why they don't bother explaining void and reincarnation in detail to every single pair of people they're judging.
Heaven and hell gets the message across.
They're not bullshitting you either, one is good and the other is bad.
Ok I saw it
Completely went over my head
And it wasn't the cop, it was the rapist, the student was pretty much dying the moment he stabbed the cop.
It upset me that it was actually hell, I thought the whole point about it being vague was that it wasn't hell, but I guess people would understand a "bad" and "good" ending well enough via heaven and hell.
He ain't got time for Mayu's bullshit.
That sounds more like the Greek Hades than the Christian Hell to be honest.
Arcade and Twister best episodes
Both are bad though.
That back tho
Arcade was bitter as fuck
Needed more games like that one
Well I'm not specifically talking about the Christian Hell I was more just referring to a "bad place you go when you die" as they share enough similarities throughout religions.
For a group of people that were meant to be emotionless (ignoring Decim) all of them seemed to show a shit ton of emotion
It's more that they lack empathy than emotions.
The translations might not have done a great job to get that point across.
Sociopaths don't have emotions and they act pretty normal
Also it's hinted that Ginti has emotions as well but his arc was left unfinished.
his arc was left unfinished.
I think the conclusion was that even though he had the potential to care about them (as shown by his dolls) Ginti didn't manage to gain a new understanding of humans like Decim did. Therefore his cat left him because he was too much of an asshole.
Is loli God?
There's no way this could possibly go wrong
non-criminals judging criminals based on their crimes
This is so fucked up.
It actually is.
Every time a work of fiction tries to sell you some "emotionless" character you can guarantee it's going to be bullshit, unless it's in a coma or heavily sedated all the time. Emotions play such an integral and primal role in our decision making and the way we perceive the world that it simply doesn't make sense as a concept. At best it will be some Star Trek deal where a character puts a bit more emphasis on objectivity. At worst it will be an expressionless Rei clone that sits around doing nothing.
If you live in a land where puppets are considered Gods, no.
There is no God in Death Parade. It looks like a world created by one, but he seems to have left long ago.
Because Women are naturally evil, you should read your bible user.
There's no way this could possibly go wrong
Yes, examining that concept was pretty much the entire premise behind the series.
A Death Parade without people calling it "hipster garbage" or "pretentious shit"? Lovely.
A Death Parade Thread*
It was fairly popular on Sheeky Forums when it was airing, so it's not exactly hipster here. I can't say anything as to whether or not it's pretentious since I don't know how the creator feels about it, but I didn't get that feeling while watching it either. It felt fairly accessible and easy to understand once you watch everything.
two seasons later
there are still retards who think she didn't cheat on him
A character without any emotion is a very hard thing to imagine. It's most likely that one without any emotion would do nothing, as the desire to live is an arbitrary emotional drive. They also wouldn't necessarily be disciplined robots that simply follow orders. A character without any emotion at all would just starve to death if left alone.
