Does anyone still watch Gintama? It doesn't seem to get much hype anymore.
Does anyone still watch Gintama? It doesn't seem to get much hype anymore
Hasn't been a gintama thread for a while.
he dies [\spoiler]
When something never fucking ends, no one likes it. Just look at one piece..
You've seen the big ass fanbase for one piece though? I read it all but I still can't get hyped for new chapters. How does that have more fans than Gintama?
Still has regular threads, still has good sales, still has plenty of doujins/fanart being made, still has inexplicably high ratings on MAL. You're probably projecting your declining interest on others, it's not an overly hyped show to begin with.
Lot of people do, but talking about it on Sheeky Forums is never going to catch on
You're just not looking at the right times.
are you living under a rock?
There is one or two made on episode day, usually lasts around 12 hours.
It's boring as fuck weekly.
discussing shows that have more than 2 seasons on Sheeky Forums
Not going to happen, Sheeky Forums only can talk about shows that have 13-52 episodes. Anything past that rarely gets sustainable threads
tfw there hasn't been a good Gintama OP since Tougenkyou Alien
Are you a nigger?
HxH threads always seem to do pretty well, in terms of replies, even though a lot of it is just killua and pitou shitposting
Gintama threads aside from random shiposters barging in and going "mal shit, or isn't this japanese family guy?" are probably some of the most on topic and shitpost free threads on Sheeky Forums.
It's just there.
It's still alright, I enjoy it but there's not really much to talk about as it's on all the time.
There's always the odd thread about it though
I know one piece still gets discussion but it feels like more extreme shit happens in it.
Gintama also isn't as polarizing as something like say Evangelion which gets threads every day.
I'm quite happy with the status quo, it means there's not as much moronic shitposting.
I see you're new to the threads.
hxh has some of the shittiest threads these days
That's true, most people who are still watching gintama mostly have all the same general opinion and the ones who don't dropped it a long time ago
I guess we need to dump the chapters on every thread to get people talking.
for a manga about ayy lamos coming to earth, they sure haven't spent much time in space.
because space isn't what the show is about
I think it also has to do with the episodic nature of the series. I like gintama and one piece almost equally the same but there's a lot more topics to discuss about one piece in general because of how the story's structured.
It's just that Gintama is very hard to get into especially if you can't get past the first twenty episodes and there are many references that you won't understand unless you're japanese.
Yeah I know. I'm still surprised how someone manages to post on every single HxH thread "Killua is cute!"
And there's just a lot more shitposters in the threads these days too, especially since most of the threads themselves have the shittiest topics that attract shitposters. Not sure if it's the newfags or just baiters but some of the threads they make are just retarded and asking for it.
I am. I am still watching and reading Gintama.
There isn't a lot to discuss about the series. A lot of people don't read the manga and there isn't a lot to speculate about in the chapters that do come out. The threads always end up being the same with the same opinions and questions.
It's better this way. It really is.
there are many references that you won't understand unless you're japanese.
I'm not too sure about this. We seem to get SZS threads fairly often and that's even more intense than Gintama in terms of Japanese references yet so many /a/nons love it.
Gintama is comfy, you are happy watching it, even when a sad or dense arc comes. Sometines is nice to talk about it, sometimes you just feel like not talking about and is not a big deal.
Unlike a lot of other long running shonen manga, there really isn't anything to speculate so there's not much to talk about.
There's hype, just not on Sheeky Forums.
I think most speculation is done on yorozuya soul and most people are waiting for the serious arcs before posting. Not much to talk about with where the anime is atm.
I don't understand why you would read this when Hayate exists.
It's always there.
People who like Gintama are happy enough with the series existence.
We do, but its one of our hidden treasures and we dont want to over saturate the threads like those Umaru fags
A lot of people watch it but it's not really talked about that much.
Gintama threads usually occur for a new episode, then slowly slide into manga discussion.
Thank you manga /a/nons who do a wonderful job spoiling manga developments and allowing me to enjoy the thread.
Manga speculation thread start
Finally, Yorozuya is going to space
Gintama has never really had big threads on Sheeky Forums often. I don't get from where these people worried about the lack of discussion came from. I guess you got into the show right before the current season?
So how many faction are fought over the earth now ?
Harusame, Kihetai, shogunate, the new hitotsubashi or whatever the name is.
Did I miss something ?
Hitotsubashi are just dolls of the tendoshu which collaborate with the harusame. Kihetai broke collaboration with harusame and are going to be destroyed. Takasugi is with the kiheitai. Takasugi is missing . Gintoki will go find him.
The new season has been mediocre at best. The story arcs seem to have reached their lowest point. Some have been just plain boring.
I think that new director isn't making a very good job - it's really mediocre. Still, I enjoy watching Gintama, cant wait to see shogundiesarc.
I agree, the previous series of Gintama weren't just carbon copies of the manga panel per panel, they had some love from the staff put into them as well, biggest example would probably be the first episode of degree.
New studio's production values suck, feels like it has a fraction of the budget. Feels even worse than toei at times, full of quality, no animation.
New director is shit, carbon copies the manga, doesn't have the same feeling that sunrise director gave it.
Mangafags can't stop sperging out over super serious arcs in the manga, derailing and spoiling people in every thread.
A lot of people gave up since how bad Echousen was, probably read the manga.
Most people noticed all these things, causing a general sense of apathy toward this season of it. Especially on Sheeky Forums, like @Illusionz
said. Other forums probably haven't even noticed the studio change, they enjoy eating shit constantly that Toei/Pierrot shits out..
Frankly, the 2 year anime hiatus killed it. Now the anime is also mediocre too.
Gintama is slowly dying ;_;
A lot of people gave up since how bad Echousen was, probably read the manga.
I liked it, people hating it, why is that?
1 new episode a month, 3 weeks of reruns. I should have specified those who watched it weekly. We didn't even end up with 12 new episodes.
people hating it, why is that
Should've put a "never heard of" at the start there.
Gintama don't really have active threads, even back when the 2011 series aired.
There was time when Gintama threads are popular, but it was filled with people shitposting about how "Gintama is untrollable". I'd rather have no thread at all than that.
Alien was the best OP but there were good ones after it.
Also this one if it counts
There was time when Gintama threads are popular
I don't remember that being a thing.
Tendonshu is the elder of the alien, where shoyo came from.
They work with space pirate harusame.
Kihetai broke their cooperation with harusame and they are on wanted list.
And to summarize
There are two faction :
Human (Kihetai, gintoki, shogunate) vs Tendonshu+Harusame+Human(hitotsubashi)
Am I correct ?
There have been some good episodes this season.
Shoyo isn't an alien he's a human who was exposed to the planets life force and became immortal
although I like how they remind us of their previous characters with the present ED, I guess we will see Santa on Christmas on the current ED if it continues, that is.
Whats Gintokis character "archetype" called anyway? Reminds me a lot of Dante.
Whatever it is, its probably the best formula for an MC out there.
tfw we wont see reused 4:3 footage for new years
I still watch Gintama, I still occasionally post in threads, but I dont have as much time for shitposting in mongolian fingerprinting forums as I want.
Is Gintama going to continue onto next season?
Gintama has been airing for years so probably.
new season sucks balls or I've outgrown it.
It's not funny in any way
If all goes good,Spring 2016 we get shogun Arc
hype for the Arc after the shogun's arc
hype even more
mfw no comedy anymore for 2 years and more from then
Samefag. Have to complete the pic
On episode 261 right now
mfw running out of episodes
The new season is terrible. Absolutely terrible.
I liked the first two episodes and Basugay episodes, rest was meh
I watch it it's great.
It has lost its charm and need to end quickly or the opinion for it will become worse
RELAX GUYS. New arc is next this week
Is it a comedy arc?
Pretty sure the Soul Switch arc is coming up.
Because it's literally Japanese Family Guy
Just got to the Eva ep. 26 parody.
Isn't that like episode 30 or something?
So, I've done a lot research, and the overall consensus seems to be that Gintama is really funny, as a whole.
Is that true, Sheeky Forums?
It's a great ride honestly, some episodes are hilarious, others will make you cry, some arcs are hilarious while others are amazing in their serious way.
Takes like 30 eps to get good.
just watch it and form an opinion about it yourself faggot
The manga is being so fucking retarded, the recent arcs are painful to read through.
