Is 2deep4u anime over?
Is 2deep4u anime over?
Haruhi was the lst thing I saw closest to 2deep4u. And thats saying something!
Pretty much. Quality content in animation is dead for both the East and the West.
It's all about irony and meta anime nowadays.
2deep4u? probably not
2deep4me? my soul is an endless chasm, anime is not too deep for me, for I am to deep for it
Yuri Kuma was pretty recent, and whether you like it or not it was at least trying to be 2deep
I tip my fedora to you, my good sir
It as just utena: cute bears edition.
Made by the same guy, too.
Everything is too deep for the majority of scum who watch anime without putting in the slightest amount of effort to pay attention.
Pic related was the only anime I ever considered 2deep4me.
You wish, bub.
more like too much filler for me
Otaku don't give a fuck about irony or meta-ness.
You sure, user?
bro, it's just symbolism
I finished Ergo Proxy only yesterday and I can't even remember that scene
TELL ABOUT PENGUIN 1, WHY DOES HE WEAR THE MASK?
I think it's from that weird ass episode with the Proxy that made Vincent think he was inside Re-l's head. I remember the image perfectly, but not the context.
Anime with intellectual content, with the exception of Freudgelion, didn't sell so they stopped making it.
Now you get waifushit and advertisements for LNs and already popular manga.
Chiaki J Konaka is returning to writing anime next year, so no.
A LOT OF LOYALTY FOR AN AQUATIC BIRD!
HE DIDN'T FLY SO GOOD.
SNAFU aired a few months ago, and no one understood it
This is the face of 2deep4u today.
what's deep about this show. I've heard about it but I haven't bothered to check it out.
That's the joke.
Ernest & Clenestine, Secret of Kells and Song of the Sea, How to train a Dragon and Kung Fu Panda 2, Boxtrolls, Painting, Rango, The Illusionist, It's such a Beautiful Day and The World of Tomorrow all aired in the last five years. I think the west is fine.
Can Deathnote be considered 2deep4you?
at least the premise was.
Wait? What? Any source on this?
That episode was so fucking great
That was forced 2deep4u so it didn't count.
They are adapting two novels by Itoh next season and a third sometime after that.
It's okay if you didn't understand
I really liked Shinsekai Yori
Ikuhara just recently did it with YKA. It was shit though.
Pino has ZERO porn
Death Note was incredibly straightforward.
You cannot be serious.
rika furude probably have a lot so that's not an issue
I still don't get this one, and I understood EVA on my first watch
Tokyo ghoul is, not deathnote.
I wanna kiss her
She doesn't have a vagina.
What the hell is there to get? It's a visceral experience, you're not supposed to analyze what every little thing means in it.
Tokyo ghoul is
Tokyo Ghoul manga actually has some pretty neat 2deep4u stuff.
Pretty sure Punchline aired recently
I know right...
Sexualizing the Pino
You've gone too far this time Sheeky Forums.
yfw 2deepb8 meme has literally convinced hordes of people that non-conventional story telling is a bad thing
I mean if it fails it's awful but you're all faggots.
thank god 2deep4u anime is over so now I can shitpost with smug faces of generic SoL moe anime girl #592
Tokyo ghoul is dips into being pretentious occasionally. Need I remind you of kaneki "being the bridge between our worlds". I do so enjoy a tragedy though.
What did you understand on the first view about Eva? If you just mean the message then it's pretty much spelled out, if you mean the whole plot and lore I doubt that. Most of it is only understandable with a rewatch and putting info you get earlier on into the context of info you gather later.
I know, I never can trust Sheeky Forums when it comes to talking about shows that are "deep." Sheeky Forums is full of a bunch of dumb fucks that are more motivated to spout memes and foster arguments than actually have a good discussion.
My trash LN harem is super deep guys! You just don't understand it!
Depends on the threads user. If you have shit taste, Sheeky Forums just looks like shit. You people tend to congregate.
More importantly, when was the last good cyberpunk series? I want to see the cyberpunk and fantasy/adventure eras return.
Looks more like a thread where people are using the phrase ironically to refer to anime with any depth.
I think you're lost.
Eh, I wasn't really referring to that. I was moreso referring to the tarot card stuff. I don't see Kaneki / Haise turning out to be any kind of messiah.
I've never seen a serious Ergo Proxy thread, ever.
inb4 lurk more
I've been actively lurking and posting on Sheeky Forums for over two years now, have seen 30+ anime, and even have automatic pins set in the catalog so I will see any thread about Ergo Proxy. They're ALL the same.
Psycho Pass, Mardock Scramble, GitS Arise, the list goes on...
Probably Texhnolyze in 2003, honestly.
Damn nigga that's a lot of animes!
they were never common in the first place.
that said, cyberpunk has become true, just that you don't have to do parkour to break into evil corporate headquarters. and people don't want to look at the ugly reality.
NO ONE CARED WHO I WAS UNTIL I PUT ON THE PANTSU
I enjoyed Mardock Scramble and Psycho Pass S1. Still haven't watched Gits Arise.
I wasn't boasting, I just wanted to convey that I'm not new.
Every Ergo Proxy thread I've ever seen on here shows off just how smart the average Sheeky Forums poster is. And Ergo Proxy wasn't a particularly complicated show.
What was the last deep anime? Yuri Kuma? If not then before that?
Are you defending this board? I just check the catalog and top row had two depictions of pre-pubescent girls (one naked), one of mouse bad with wrist support in the form of a female behind, a sad panda threat and thread with someone who just started JoJo.
under 100 anime
Psycho Pass, but it is debatable whether that is good
Just rewatch Bubblegum Panic or something. I would kill for a Shadowrun anime or something, but it probably wouldn't sell.
I just finished Ergo Proxy today, and it was legitimately 2deep4me.
Yeah... that would be why. I don't even need to say anymore. Please continue to scroll right past the good threads.
we're getting a ton of fantasy anime. and only half of them are "transported into MMO world" flavor.
mardock scramble was ok, but it lacked something.
have seen 30+ anime
I'm not one that cares, but that's not considered an awful lot around here. I've seen about 370 and I'm pretty sure I'd be considered a pleb by some.
It certainly didn't lack beautiful visuals, great music and characters. That's for sure.
I consider you a pleb.
It makes a lot more sense when you rewatch it knowing what you do.
What's your favorite work by Noburo Ofuji?
I get the feeling that the niche for unconventional stories has been replaced by shows that start with a creative premise/setting but a story that goes absolutely fucking nowhere (pic very related)
Shows like that sell better than "deep" ones because the concept is enough to keep desperate depth-seekers watching out of blind hope but never go anywhere that would risk making even the plebbiest plebs quit midseason.
Not exactly "deep", but best discussion of the season, even it it's only shitting on Tsubaka.
But Ninja Slayer is already airing, user.
I'm not very good at understanding complicated things, but I can get behind this.
Is that somehow supposed to prove you're not a pleb when you've only seen 370 series? Anyone who's downloaded an Anonymoose torrent has seen his work. The plebs in the 3x3 threads circlejerk to him often enough even someone who has only seen 100 series could have heard of him.
That torrent was downloaded 600 times, very possible that some of those downloads were by the same people. I know I did two times. So you're saying the actions of maybe 500 anime selected anime fans constitute the norm? I've talked to people irl from my studies and work who watch anime and about half of them had no idea what Madoka is. None of them knew who Yuasa was. I was at a convention where I talked a bit more in depth about anime with a dozen people and among those two knew who Yuasa or Ikuhara was. There was a panel about the history of anime and it started with Tezuka.
So if you think somoene who first of all. Actually goes to Sheeky Forums. Isn't repulsed by the first minutes on it. Sticks around enough to find out about 3x3 threads. Stays long enough in them to check them every couple of days at least. Is invested enough to get interested in the one pic on that one anon's 3x3 featuring a whale's tail or the other one with what would seem like some disney ladybug is a pleb... I think we're starting to be a bit absurd here.
back to leddit
basically my opinion isyou talk like a bitch so you're probably a bitch
Sure, but thanks. Alwyas feels good to win.
Read up on some Jeremy Bentham
I love a good old mindfuck when it does come around, but its been getting rarer and rarer. From the mid 90's to the mid 2000s you could count on 2 or 3 shows a year to make the attempt. After that period of time, things seemed to dwindle and now its pretty rare to see high concept stuff get launched.
I hope that this kind of stuff can make a bit of a comeback, since its almost always really interesting watching, and even the failures have something that can justify taking a look.
In the meantime, I'll just quietly wait and see what happens with Despera, and hope something pops out of nowhere to surprise me.
No. And Yuri bear was this year.
No. This series is airing next season.
It has hipstershit written all over it, even down to the character designer (Asano Inio)
tarot numbers, flowers, and checkerboards mane
I want one. But on an air-gapped machine.
I'm a catholic mystic, deep to me is staring eternity in the face, venturing to the utter extremity of human perception and overcoming the whole of contingent reality in order to glimpse the true ineffable nature of divine mystery.
That said, two shows that registered highest on the 2deep4u scale:
1.) Angel's egg
2.) Boogiepop phantom
Yes, anime fans consider anything with the slightest hint of symbolism or abstract cinematography to be pretentious or 2deep4u bullshit.
Shirobako counters your claim.
The only two anime I've ever dropped are Ergo Proxy and Ore Monogatari.
Ergo because it was SUPER-boring and Ore because their cutesy love was way too annoying for me. Also the MC is too Garrosh Stu.
I also watched Glasslip the whole way through so that says something about Ergo Proxy.
I also watched Glasslip
the whole way through
As someone who watched along with Sheeky Forums and followed the weekly threads to the bitter end myself, I ask you; what was this show even about?
I did the same as you, /a/non. And let me tell you that I myself was confused by the whole predicament. The glassblowing was not important at all.
The story was just about a girl who thought she had close friends meeting a guy during her summer break who she lustfully falls in love with while realizing that she really didn't know her friends all too well. But they tried using symbolism with those chickens and the one by itself (could arguable be her or her crush). Also the guy (David) was going through some mental problems too (the Multi-personality disorder thing?). At the end the group matures and grows closer, except for the FeMC because she still lusts for the guy who leaves her to live with his mom.
I hope I'm being trolled and just took the bait, but 30 is not a lot of anime and strongly conveys that you are, in fact, new.
It's just motion scenery-porn with some dialogue/backstory tossed in last-second so they could market the thing as "anime".
No need to overthink it beyond that, in my opinion
i still dont know what the fuck happened in that show
it went from weird detective case to fucking worldscale bioterrorism
literally what the fuck
